I knit 12 rows exactly on this sweater yesterday, guys. I can’t say that it looks like I’ve made all that much progress, but I’m doing what I can.
So, I’ve done some calculations.
If I carry on doing 12 rows a day, that’s a little more than 4cm. I have more than 30cm to go, but at 4cm per day, I’ll be done with that in just over a week!
Granted, that’s not including the extra time it’s going to take to knit the pockets, which are done while knitting the rest of the body, I believe. So once I start the pockets, I won’t be doing quite as many rows.
Still, I think that, just maybe, assuming my math is correct, I’ll be able to finish this sweater by the end of the month!
Which is fortunate, because I realized that very soon, my available knitting time is going to decrease dramatically. I’m participating in NaNoWriMo this year, so if this thing isn’t done by the end of the month, I’m pretty much S.O.L until December.
For those who don’t know, NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writing Month. It happens every year in November, and the purpose is to get writers writing. You can set the amount of words you want to write yourself, but the generally accepted amount is 50,000 – not a small feat. I’m hoping to do more than 50,000, though I haven’t decided on the exact number just yet.
The point is, a lot of the time that I usually spend knitting will be taken up by writing. So if I’m not done by the end of the month, it’ll be a lot slower going after that.
Anyway, I’ve still got the rest of this month, so wish me luck!
